For Stillwater’s eight graders, the third time was indeed the charm as they captured their first state July 27 with a thrilling win over previously unbeaten Eden Prairie Black in the YLM (Youth Lacrosse of Minnesota) state finals at Eden Prairie High School.

Ducks split to move closer to playoff berth

The Lake Elmo Ducks spent Sunday splitting a Twin Cities Men’s Adult Baseball League doubleheader with the Bombers at Pearl Park in Minneapolis. The Ducks took the opener 6-0 before falling 5-3 in the nightcap in a contest that was tight from start to finish, but didn’t go Lake Elmo’s way.
